Mattaponi Winery is a family-owned winery producing a variety of hand-crafted, award-winning wines. It is a coast-to-coast international award-winner five times and a national award-winner four times. The name comes from the four rivers in Spotsylvania county, Virginia: Mat, Ta, Po, and Ni, which have been used in history to name the Indian tribe once ruled by Chief Powhatan, Pocahontas’ father.
